Papalaua Stream Explorers
Papalaua Stream Explorers
Location: Papalaua, Koolau Moloka'i, Hawai'i
The Tupperware fleet arrives at the Papalaua shoreline to begin their mile-long streambed hike to the base of the falls. From Lloyd's perspective, the classic shape of a Hawaiian amphitheater valley is obvious¬†— waterfall creating the valley in the back, sharp fluted slopes and cliffs dropping to the stream and an alluvial mound at the valley's mouth that creates the amphitheater effect. After landing, we trek up the streambed¬†— no trails here. Photo Copyright to Lloyd Lewis, Ph.D
